OUR INGREDIENTS
We love our products and we want you to love them too. We understand that what makes a product great is not just how well it works, it's knowing who made it, how it was made, and what it was made from. That's why we included this nice little info page. Here you will find some additional information on how we make our batches, the ingredients we use, and what you can expect from them.
How We Make Our Batches
All products are made in batches ranging from 1-2 dozen ounces by the dynamic husband and wife duo, Jon and Jodi. Once we make our batches we bottle or tin them immediately so that they are sealed and properly stored. Carrier oils, hydrosols, and products containing Citrus, Conifer, or Frankincense Essential Oils are kept refrigerated because they are more prone to oxidation. Roots, herbs and fungi are stored in glass gallon jars with tightly secured lids. We keep all of our ingredients in a temperature controlled room and out of direct sunlight so that they stay fresher longer.
The Ingredients We Use
We began our quest to create plant-based products because we were skeptical about the ingredients used in mainstream body care. We decided to create products that were more nature-friendly and that we felt safe using. That being said, we would not make anything that we would not use ourselves. We search out for ingredients that are plant-based, organic or naturally derived. We buy as local as possible, with herbal suppliers in Washington and Oregon. Many herbs are outsourced from our suppliers due to their unavailability in the states. Our Chaga is sourced from a co-op in Alaska that uses ethical and sustainable harvesting practices, and our mint and lavender are grown on site.
We believe in only using superior essential oils from reputable essential oil distributors that offer pure or absolute oils. What does it matter if an essential oil is pure or not? It matters because they are being used for their healing and therapeutic properties, which will make a world of difference on their aromas and how your skin looks and feels.
We also set out to find the most naturally-derived preservatives to ensure our products maintain their stability and are safe. Vitamin E, Grapefruit Seed Extract and Fermented Radish Root are our most common natural preservatives. We decided to create a glossary of ingredients that we use in our products so everyone can refer to it as a guide when they become curious as to what this or that extract does, or stumble upon an ingredient that they are not familiar with. We are always adding new products and tea blends, so some ingredients may not be listed yet.
Below you will find a list of our ingredients; what they are, and what you can expect from them. Simply search an ingredient in our search bar or use the keyboard shortcut "control+find" to highlight your search word.
